Celebrate World Water Day 2012 with Humanity First

What do rural women and children of Tema in Ghana, Tharparker in Pakistan, Moleti in Tanzania, and Masagua in Guatemala all have in common? These women and children no longer need to make grueling trips to access potable drinking water or worry about the risks of catching deadly water-borne diseases. Through the Water for Life program, Humanity First has changed their lives for the better.

Nearly one billion people around the world are still without access to clean drinking water. More than 1 million children die each year due to diarrhea only. More than 90% of these deaths can be prevented simply by access to clean drinking water.

The Water for Life initiative is a major global priority of Humanity First. In the past 5 years, Humanity First has provided safe, clean drinking water to over 2 million people. Every year on March 22, World Water Day is celebrated by all United Nations member countries and organizations as a reminder that access to clean drinking water is one of the fundamental human rights. Humanity First volunteers, donors and supporters also come together on this day each year with a renewed commitment that we will continue to help our fellow human beings with access to the source of life, and the corner stone of healthy and prosperous communities. This year, Humanity First USA is making a commitment to provide access to clean drinking water to 1 million people. We cannot achieve this without your support. With a $1500 donation to Humanity First's Water for Life program, you can help install one hand pump and serve hundreds of people in one village. You may dedicate a well to your loved ones. Any amount will make a difference. Please donate today.
